LIBERATOR ABBEY STYLE ALE IS A TRAPPIST INFLUENCED REAL ALE DEVELOPED IN MEMORY OF THE CREW AND PASSENGERS OF A USAAF B-24H LIBERATOR BOMBER, SERIAL NO. 42-95095, WHICH BECAME LOST WHILE RETURNING TO THE USA ON JUNE 13TH, 1945, AND CRASHED AT THE FAIRY LOCHS NEAR BADACHRO WITH THE LOSS OF ALL SOULS ONBOARD. THE REMAINS OF THE AIRCRAFT CAN BE SEEN TODAY AT THE CRASH SITE INCLUDING PARTS OF THE FUSELAGE, ENGINES AND THE REMAINS OF A PROPELLER PROTRUDING FROM THE LOCH. LEST WE FORGET.

Single and delicatley Hopped with Goldings.

The yeast strain used originates from a Trappist Abbey. The slow fermentation and ester production really dominates this beer and it is expected to age very well if cellared carefully.

At its current young age, the beer is sharp and refreshing, very light background malt notes and a dry tart juicy finish. Drinks well from a wine glass with a roast pork dinner, chorizo or a nice creamy risotto. Over time we expect the tartness to reduce and the malty notes to develop.
