Arctic Convoy IPA 5% ABV.
HAS BEEN CREATED IN RECOGNITION OF THE EFFORTS OF SEAFARERS, CROFTERS AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITY OF LOCH EWE DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR AS THE BASE FOR THE RUSSIAN ARCTIC CONVOYS THAT PROVIDED VITAL MARITIME LINKS DURING THE WAR EFFORT.
Hopped with Sovereign, East Kent Goldings and Ernest.
A hop forward IPA based on the original India Pale Ales. This is crisp, refreshing with a gentle slight mango flavour upfront with a hint of grapefruit to follow. This IPA is a traditional UK style IPA that is balanced and although generously hopped is restrained enough to detect malt subtleties and delicate green hop aroma. We keep the ABV restrained to 5% also.

Hurricane Best Bitter 4.3% ABV.
HURRICANE BEST BITTER IS OUR COMMEMORATION OF LOCH EWE'S RELATIONSHIP WITH THE HAWKER HURRICANE AIRCRAFT. THE ARCTIC CONVOYS SOMETIMES INCLUDED CATAPULT AIRCRAFT MERCHANT SHIPS (CAMS). THESE HAD A RAMP OVER THE BOW ON WHICH A HURRICANE WAS MOUNTED AND LAUNCHED BY A ROCKET-PROPELLED CATAPULT TO INTERCEPT ENEMY AIRCRAFT. A ONE-WAY TICKET FOR THE PILOT AS THERE WAS NO MEANS OF LANDING: HE WOULD HAVE TO BAIL OR DITCH IN THE ARCTIC SEA AND AWAIT RECOVERY BY THE CONVOY VESSELS.
Hopped with Columbus, Endeavour and Goldings.
Slight sweet malt and caramel upfront with light coffee tones which slowly dissapate to be replaced by a lingering hop bitterness. Light bodied with superb dark amber hue and a soft smooth mouthfeel.

The yeast strain used originates from a Trappist Abbey. The slow fermentation and ester production really dominates this beer and it is expected to age very well if cellared carefully.

Hopped with Mittlefruh and Tettnanger
Floral, Sweet (perhaps more towards a Helles style than a Pilsner in the true sense), Complex floral from the hops with delicious malty sweetness. Very easy drinking.
